The Last Person To See This Beauty Has Already Been Born

about

At the start of the pandemic a friend and collaborator said "I'm making a drone metal record and so should you."

The next day, around 5am, a riff started to knock on my skull, wouldn't let me go back to sleep. I had to go into the music room. The riff said, "I'm on bass." So i picked up my jazz bass and the riff said "NO! THE RICKENBACKER!" And there it was. Or the first part if it. The riff said "There's more to me, come back later and I'll reveal the rest." So i sat with it, and played it and listened to it and it did reveal itself to me over a week or so.

That riff starts right toward the end of this long, large thing. But the whole piece was born of it. It's like the man says, "Ask the Idea."

I recorded the whole thing at home, while my kids did remote school and while my wife worked remotely. I'd get a ten or fifteen minute window where I could be quite loud, then I'd have to wait.
